The Missouri Association of Fire Chiefs (MAFC)
The MAFC is specifically setup to bring Fire Chiefs all over the State of Missouri to a forum of communication, comaradery, and professionalism. Our annual conference is held at the beautiful Big Cedar Lodge Resort in the heart of the Ozarks. IAFC Presidents, seasoned Fire Chiefs, and renowned guest speakers have participated in providing valuable training and the future is only getting better. With a growing network of Fire Chiefs accross the State, MAFC has continued to stay on top of political hot-bed issues that affect you. Members are connected through an email list serve which vital information is sent out almost daily.
- Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered that the flags of the United States and the State of Missouri at all state government buildings in Boone County be flown at half-staff on Feb. 27 in honor of Lieutenant Bruce Britt, of the Columbia Fire Department. Lieutenant Britt, age 48, died on Feb. 22 while bravely serving the citizens of Columbia. He was a member of the Columbia Fire Department for more than 23 years. Under Gov. Nixon’s order, U.S. and Missouri flags at state buildings in Boone County will fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Feb. 27, 2014, the day the funeral services for Lieutenant Britt will take place.
